Exercising Covenant Authority in Times of trouble
10-Lesson Class with Craig Hill
When disaster strikes — how do YOU respond?

Many believers unwittingly allow the enemy to play his hand, then question God’s goodness or willingness to intervene…

…when all along, they had the authority to resist the enemy’s schemes and stop him in his tracks.
  • How would you like to be so in step with the Father that you hear His voice, sense His Presence, and feel His love 24/7?
  • What if you could eliminate striving and simply flow in full assurance of the Father’s adoration and approval?
  • What if you were so infused with God’s love that you “leaked”?
If this feels familiar, you might be going through life with a “big devil, small God” mentality — completely unaware of the authority and power available through Jesus Christ.

The key to exercising this authority lies in your understanding of covenant — specifically, Jesus’ blood covenant with you.

Since covenant is a Middle Eastern concept, most of the Western world lacks understanding of its true meaning and powerful application today.

That being said — just having a covenant is not enough.

Look at the life of King Saul and young David…

Both had access to the same covenant — but only David had the inner confidence to rise up in his covenant authority to defeat Goliath!

Overview of the “Exercising Covenant Authority in Times of Trouble” 10-Lesson Class

Course description by Craig Hill

Lesson 1: Is God in Control? | What Is a Covenant?
If God is in control, why do bad things happen? To answer this question, you must recognize the difference between control and power, attributes of God’s character, and how God chose to pour His authority into man. More importantly, you need to understand what a covenant is — and what it is not. This lesson will unpack the significance of your blood covenant with Jesus, how God operates in the earth, and ways to move in the authority available to you.

Lesson 2: Threshold Covenant | The King Comes to Town
What does it truly mean to be in a covenant with God? Most of us are strangers to covenant, so we don’t actually know how to interact with God through this lens. This lesson explores Middle Eastern culture to reveal what a covenant is, the significance of crossing the threshold of someone’s home, and how the blood of Jesus was poured out at the threshold of God’s dwelling — inviting us into something incredibly powerful.

Lesson 3: The New Threshold Covenant | Covenant vs. Contract
When people don’t understand covenant, they often beg God to do what He’s already done by covenant. We tend to think God’s promises are dependent on our works — but that is contract thinking. In this lesson, you’ll discover the radical difference between a contract and a covenant, learn how authority is released through covenant, and understand the magnificent promises of God available to you while here on earth.

Lesson 4: Three Essentials of Covenant | Four Things Exchanged in a Covenant
When you were born into the Kingdom of God, you were born into a war. That means the enemy will try to attack you — but thanks to Jesus’ blood covenant, he no longer has authority. That being said, you can still be a stranger to your covenant and miss out on the powerful benefits Jesus paid for. In this lesson, you will unpack the 3 essentials needed to experience the fullness of your covenant with Christ, plus what each of them looks like in practice. You’ll also explore what things are exchanged in a covenant, and their rich spiritual significance for you today.

Lesson 5: The Difference Between Saul and David | Five Remnants of a Covenant Today
You could intellectually understand everything about riding a bicycle, but until you get on the bike and learn to ride it from experience, that knowledge will only take you so far. Possessing experiential understanding (or an inner image) is the key to enforcing victory. In this lesson, you’ll discover the importance of experiential understanding as it relates to your covenant with God. Once you know the provisions of your covenant AND possess an inner conviction and confidence that only experience can bring, you’ll be able to enforce the authority of that covenant against the enemy.
Lesson 6: Ambassador or Tourist | Covenant Authority
Do you travel through life as an ambassador or a tourist? When a tourist visits a foreign land, he has zero authority, while an ambassador has authority to speak in the name of the country, person, or place he came from. When bad things happen, understanding the authority God has given YOU can make all the difference. This lesson will help you take hold of the power and purpose you have as an ambassador of Christ through covenant authority.

Lesson 7: Why Pray? | Wrong Image of God
If God is all-powerful, what is the point of prayer? How does prayer move the hand of God? The key to answering these questions lies in your understanding of God’s role in prayer — and yours. This lesson will explore the practice of prayer, what it accomplishes, how miracles are released when you partner with God through prayer, and more. You’ll also discover how the enemy tries to dislodge you from your role as God’s ambassador through false beliefs about God’s nature. This insight will further equip you to stand firm in your authority as you partner with Him.
Lesson 8: God’s Word Remains | Was Judas’ Betrayal God’s Will?
As soon as God speaks a word to your heart, the enemy sets out on a mission to steal or destroy it. He does this by distorting what God said, what you believe about God, and how you think of yourself. This typically brings doubt, fear, or shame — driving you from the place God has called you and stealing your inheritance. Despite all of this, God’s words will not return to Him without accomplishing its purpose. This lesson will unpack the life-cycle of a word from the Lord and empower you to grab hold of God’s promise to you until it reaches fulfillment.
Lesson 9: Job’s False Image of God | Job Opens Doors in His Life
Most Christians don’t realize that Satan lacks the very authority they have. Because of that, many of us allow the enemy to do things in our lives that he has no authority to do unless we allow it. Job is an excellent biblical example of this. Job believed that his misfortune was punishment from God, when in fact the enemy was seeking to sabotage his life so that Job would blame God. In this lesson, you will learn how to avoid this common deception of the enemy and remove all opportunity for Satan’s torment by closing doors to fear and pride.

Lesson 10: How Did Satan Access Job? | Paul’s Thorn
Bad things happen because there is a war, and there is an enemy that’s against us. In order to resist the enemy, it is critical to know what comes from God, what comes from Satan, and how to employ the protection available to us through our blood covenant with Jesus. In this final lesson, you will unpack the scriptural model provided by Paul to identify the source of trials in your life and understand how to respond. As you put the revelation from this class into practice, you will be equipped to exercise your covenant authority in times of trouble, releasing the dunamis power of God through your life.
